home at last

It's been a long time since I updated this blog, but in the circumstances that's perhaps not so surprising.

Today is very special: finally, after 22 weeks, we've crossed the line and reached the end of the course.

It's been very challenging for everyone - participants, tutors and learners - but we've finally got there.

Well done to everyone: the trainees for your resilience, perseverance and stamina, Nancie and Helen for all the (very) many extra hours they've given to the course (Zoom training and organising the TP not the least of this) and to our language learners for their part in making sure that the final weeks of TP took place and so successfully.

It's a great achievement, and everyone should celebrate! Well done, all.

Cambridge webinars

Cambridge Assessment English has three webinars coming up that may be of interest:

15 April: Preparing students for Cambridge exams online

21 & 22 April: Teaching in tough times

23 April: Managing interaction & feedback in the virtual classroom

Here's the link for more information and the registration buttons:

(I made a tiny url of the link, as the original is extremely long to paste in.)

Hope you're all well and Happy Easter!

PS I'm working on a range of CELTA padlets - to see them, you need to a Padlet user name (free) - then I can enrol you in the various padlets.

Cambridge has now replied to our email of questions regarding how to proceed with TP. It has said it will publish more information next week: I'll keep you posted, of course.

Macmillan links now working OK

The links to the resources for Macmillan's Global and Inside Out courses in the quick links column were offline but have now returned on line.

I've also put a folder of Macmillan resources into the public folder on my website:

handouts for tomorrow

I've e-mailed some handouts for tomorrow's input. Could you print them out, and try the exams quiz (2-pages)?

blog quick links will be updated & new wiki content

The blog quick links menu on the right will be updated - some links have been superseded.

Plus, the wiki will soon host two pdfs of web resources with screenshots of the sites and their URLs.
